Podcast Praise: 3 Pods I'm Loving

Podcast Praise: 3 Pods I'm Loving

On the bell curve of podcast consumers, I’m definitely in the top 5% (maybe top 1%). I listen to about 4 hours a day of podcasts. I know that sounds extreme, but here’s how it breaks down:

7 am – 9 am: I listen from the time I wake up until I leave for work which includes my morning workout, walking around the city, getting ready and making breakfast

1 hour: I listen on my commute to/from work

1 hour: I listen in bed before I go to sleep. I set a sleep timer and go to sleep to the sounds of my favorite pods.

On weekends, it’s even more hours of listening. I love podcasts so much, I even started my own.

I fell in love with podcasts years ago when Serial was so popular, and I realized quickly that it’s the perfect medium for me. I learn through listening. I love listening while walk around gorgeous NYC. I’m a huge fan of efficiency and multitasking so I love listening while I get ready for work and run errands. I love the variety of podcasts – everything from pop culture to true crime to educational. I respect storytelling and thought leadership and feel like podcasting is an incredible outlet for some of the smartest, funniest and most thoughtful voices out there.

I find myself constantly sharing pods and specific episodes with my friends, so I’ve decided to start a series sharing my favorite pods with you! To kick off this series, here are 3 podcasts I’m loving right now:

  • You’re Wrong About:this podcast is dedicated to debunking commonly held beliefs. Think Anna Nicole Smith is a gold digger? Think again. Think the 90’s was a scary time for street gang violence? Worth a listen.

  • The Doctor’s Farmacy:Dr. Mark Hyman is one of the most respected doctors out there and his podcast has created an approachable, digestible lens to complicated (and misunderstood) wellness topics like longevity, chronic disease, the food system, heathcare and so much more. I’ve listened to his pod for over a year and can say I’m healthier because of him.

  • Ceremony Wellness:modern healing meets ancient wisdom in this pod by Kelli Tennant. It’s such a safe place for topics about healing energy, spirituality, mindfulness and more. Kelli brings on the best guests and shares these deep topics in a way that feels like I can really integrate them into my daily life.
