Follow Your Creams: How I Ended Up in the New York Post
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to be interviewed by the New York Post for a story they were doing about women in NYC who are beauty and product junkies. They wanted to know what my favorite products are and how much I spend monthly on purchases and treatments. It's like I've been training my whole life for this.
So I did the interview and figured I'd be mentioned in the middle of the article and that would be that. Then they asked if they could come to my apartment to shoot me for the piece. I did my hair and makeup and appreciated the bright sunny day that filled my apartment with light. Fun!
A couple of weeks later, I was at Gurney's in Montauk for a weekend getaway, sitting at the bar at Scarpetta Beach, on my second glass of rose, when my phone lights up with a text. The article was live. It's me. On my couch. Surrounded by my beauty products. OMG.
NYC has something I like to call "New York magic." There's this thing about the city where normal girls who just love creams and skincare can end up on the cover of the Style & Beauty section of the Post. When I moved here 2 years ago, I didn't know what to expect. Would I blend in and feel small and insignificant in this giant city or would I ride the energy like Bastian rides Falkor in my childhood favorite movie, The Neverending Story?
Pretty sure I'm riding Falkor. And that's really fun. Here's to New York magic.
