Weekend Escape: Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa

Living in New York is everything.  But even a city loving girl needs a couple of days of sand, water, quiet and lazy days by the fire pit.  When it comes to travel, I LOVE the "shoulder season" - that time in-between high and low season where the crowds are light, the weather isn't too hot or cold, and you often have the feeling of having the resort to yourself.  That's exactly what I got when I jetted away to Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa this weekend.  

The room was pin-drop quiet with our own oceanfront balcony, we ate our way through breakfast, lunch and dinner devouring the menu at Scarpetta Beach (get the bread - trust) and sipped the season's first rose.  Weekend perfection.  

The pictures speak for themselves.  Don't let the empty beach tables fool you, the weather is just about to warm up and The Beach Club isn't open just yet - but you can imaging warm Summer nights under the lights.  I'll be back.  Probably next week.
