My "Can of Biscuits" Theory
A funny thing happened when I reached my late 30's. My friends and I started seeing that "age" was popping up out of nowhere. Sun spots, fine lines, crepey (I HATE that word) skin, etc. It's like we woke up one day and just kind of looked older. And it was all about skin.
So was born my "can of biscuits" theory.
You can lay in the sun, ignore your skin, drink a little too much, etc. through your 20's and into your 30's and your skin is very resilient and mostly doesn't show the effects. But then - BAM! - you wake up one day and, like a can of biscuits, years of lifestyle choices pop up on your face, hands, arms, chest...
Treat your skin NOW like you think you'll treat it 10 or 20 years from now. Overprotect. Just because you get tons of sun now and your skin is wrinkle-free and smooth, that's just the can of biscuits building up it's popping power. You skincare choices will show up. It's a matter of when, not if.
Treat your 20's skin like you're in your 40's, and when you're in your 40's, you'll have the skin of a 20 year old.
