How to Increase Anything by 3,800% In One Year
An Indian Proverb states: You Can't Stop Running Water.
I've been sitting on this one for a while. I love the fluidity of it. Water can trickle or water can roar. But it never stops. We're like 70% water. We're literally fluid. We never stop. One of my favorite podcasts is by James Altucher. He has what's called the 1% rule. If you improve upon something by 1% each day, in a year you will have improved 3,800%. That's crazy. It works for anything - exercise, savings, reading, meditating.
But what about being kind to yourself? Be just 1% more kind to yourself every day for a year and by the end of the year you may struggle to think of the last time you said a word of negative self talk.
Or maybe you apply the 1% rule to focusing on what really defines success in your life beyond your paycheck. Those last two are pulled directly from my own script. Daily focus: Be kind to myself. What really defines success in my life? These two things literally take minute-by-minute intention.
What can you do just 1% more or better each day? Laugh a little more? Make eye contact with strangers just 1% more? Breathe deep and feel the air enter and leave your lungs a bit more each day?
Love your comments on this one. I'll support you in your goals. We got this.
